1. You seem to be into video games-- what's your favorite game?
Super Mario RPG means the most to me emotionally, Smash is my favorite for just shootin' the shit with friends. I've realized recently I seem to like games more for their artistic and creative value as opposed to actually playing them, although I have my own perception of what's "fun" to play.
2. What location would you like to travel to outside of the US?
HMM WELL CANADA SOUNDS PRETTY NEATO LOLOLOL also noow that I'm slightly less of a moron, going back to England would be kinda fun, but not France. Going to France sucked, sorry guys. While Japan sounds interesting, I'm afraid I'd be too confused to really do anything cool there unless I had a translator.
3. What's something you wish you could improve on? It can be anything-- physical, mental, skill-related, etc etc.
I think anyone and everyone can improve socially in some way; that stuff I tend to just develop and get better at on my own through just living life. As far as a full-fledged "improvement" I'd say my physicality...y'know, actually getting a PHYSIQUE of some kind and not being a fuckin' stick for the rest of my life.
4. What's better: waffles or pancakes?
Pancake motherfuckers.

School's been awesome thus far, NYAF was pretty awesome too and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was also incredibly awesome...and made me cry a little. Just a little. I'm not working on a ton of stuff lately, whatever I HAVE been doing is mostly mentioned on my blog.

AnimeNEXT in NJ was this past weekend, had an outstanding time rollin' with the SMA Crew and seeing a few other friends here and there. I took a bunch'a pictures for y'all to see:

This wasn't just a con, it was a PRIVALEDGE. The fact that I got to be ON panels for the first time was an outta this world experience for me and a huge honor. Thanks so much Kyle for letting me be part of Anime Radio alongside some of the best in NYC, as well as the podcast for a quick sec; hopefully I didn't make a moron of myself. It's the Supah Crazy-Ass Renaldo Rangers
A commission for good 'ol Psyguy. This is a spin-off starring Go! Go! Parody Rangers villain, Renaldo! It takes place between the 2nd and upcoming 3rd Part of the Parody Rangers Feature Movie and was co-written by Psy and myself. Renaldo always dreamed of having his own team of Power Rangers, so thanks to the power of friendship and cold hard cash, his wet dream come horribly true! Hopefully you'll excuse the corner-cutting animation for this one, I had to get it done quicker, so you'll notice stock heads and mouthflaps. Regardless, hope you get as much of a laugh out of it as Psy and I did, enjoy!

Back in October, I rewatched every cutscene from Kinghom Hearts II since I was in the middle of a KH-resurgance. I know a lot of people, specifically Disney fans, aren't so keen on that franchise, but Wayne Allwine did some great work as Mickey on that game. Similiar to how the audience could really take Goofy seriously in "A Goofy Movie" and really feel some dramatic tension with such a cartooney character, it was incredibly cool for me at the time to see Mickey in such a light.
Since then, Mike Ruocco and I started watching a whole ton of Disney material, including a few cartoons with Wayne's performance as Mickey scattered here and there. One we definitely have to re-watch at some point is "The Prince & the Pauper", a movie I'm really partial to since I was just a little guy, and showcases some of Wayne's best work, showing he could switch back and forth between two different versions of the same character, with such slightly different inflections and traits to where you believed them to be different characters.
Sadly I never had the oppourtunity to meet him at any conventions or events, but it sounds like he was an incredibly good person. I found an interview he and his wife Russi (Minnie Mouse) did for a documentary...and it almost scared me that he spoke of how he wouldn't be doing this forever and a 4th voice for Mickey Mouse would eventually spring up. Apparantly, auditions for a successor have been going on for a while now and Wayne was largely involved in the selection process. I'm interested in seeing who the new VA will be and I'm sure they'll do a fine job, but Wayne was the definitive voice of Mickey that I grew up with since I first got into Disney movies and cartoons.

This is how much of a nerd I am. So, I'm back at EduWare to do work this summer and we're making a new racing game. I'm nearly finished completing all of the available vehicles. There are 7 vehicles to choose from with 10 different selectable colors for each one (plus a secret 11th one). I've done different decals and graphics on the side of every vehicle and color combination to try and make all of them unique...and I've had the MOST fun with naming all of them, here check it out:

One Piece will be streamed online starting May 30th with both the English (Uncut FUNimation redub) & Japanese episodes starting from the beginning, AS WELL AS the newest episodes airing in Japan with official subtitles and everything.
Fuck. Yes. I felt like I had been missing out on the TV series for a while aside from checking random clips here and there to see the premieres of certain characters in animated form. This'll be a good way to start keeping up again. Also to those've you who haven't seen the early episodes of the series re-dubbed with the new cast, PLEASE check them out online, since I know those boxsets are a little pricey for some. It's a good excuse to go back and watch the old episodes again, they stand up just as well as they did back then, to me anyway. Support One Piece and be a pirate! ...er, well you won't be a pirate because you'll be watching them legally, SO BE A TROOPER or something idfk~

There Was This One Time
This was the student film for my 2nd Year Animation Class at the School of Visual Arts. Our assignment was to design, produce and animate a fully complete film at least two minutes in length. The production for this cartoon began at the start of the school year in September 2008 and finished several weeks ago. The concept was simply, "So, there was this one time...when a bat, a rhino, a ferret and an old man all got together and played a card game."
Thanks very much to my voice cast and co-writers that made this film what it was in the first place...and thanks to Celia Bullwinkle, Mike Ruocco and everyone in my Animation Workshop that helped support and give feedback while the cartoon was being worked on. Enjoy the show :] |
